1. Backup Both BIOS Main & EC:
- Ensure you have backed up both the Main BIOS and EC BIOS before proceeding.
2. Using UEFI Tools to Edit Main BIOS:
2.1 Open UEFI Tools and drag & drop the Main BIOS file.2.2 In UEFI Tools, navigate to the BIOS Region, then select 1st NVRAM.
2.3 Open NVRAM and select VSS2_STORE.
2.4 Right-click VSS2_STORE and choose Body Hex View.
2.5 A new window will open displaying the VSS2_STORE Hex Body.
2.4 Right-click VSS2_STORE and choose Body Hex View.

3. Editing the Main BIOS:
3.1 Select 1st the Hex valueAA553F000700000000000000000000
and press Ctrl + C

3.7 Save the BIOS file. The NVRAM is now cleared.

6. Final EC BIOS Preparation:
- Open UEFI Tools, drag & drop the ready Main BIOS file.
- Click ME Region and check the Offset value (it should be
3000
). - Close UEFI Tools.
- Open the ready Main BIOS file in the Hex Editor (HXD).
- Click Search→go to Type Offset value (
3000
), and click OK. - Select all the data above this offset (from the
00
start offset) by holdingShift
+ scroll up. - Alternatively, select the block with Offset Start: 0 and Offset End: 2FFF.
- Right-click and Copy this data.
7. Integrating Data into EC BIOS:
- Open the EC BIOS in HXD.
- Search→go to Offset 2000 (this is the default value).
- Check the length of data from the Main BIOS (it should be
3000
). - At Offset
2000
in the EC BIOS, click Edit → Select Block, and set the length to3000
. - Right-click and select Paste Insert.
- Save the EC BIOS. It is now ready to flash.
Flashing Both BIOS:
- Flash both the Main BIOS and EC BIOS to the laptop.
- Once the laptop powers on, use HP DMI Tools or HP MPM Tools to fill in all necessary laptop information.
