AMI BIOS SLIC Mod: Unlocking OEM BIOS
The AMI BIOS Utility is a set of tools and utilities designed to manage and modify AMI BIOS (Basic Input/Output System). AMI BIOS is one of the most widely used BIOS versions on computers and servers. The utility is commonly used for tasks like BIOS configuration, updating, and customization, and is especially useful for power users and technicians who need to modify or repair BIOS on machines with AMI firmware
What is SLIC?
SLIC is a digital signature embedded in the BIOS by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) like Dell, HP, and Lenovo. It is used to authenticate and activate pre-installed versions of Windows (e.g., Windows 7, 8, or 10) on OEM hardware. By adding a SLIC table to the BIOS, users can trick Windows into thinking it is running on genuine OEM hardware, allowing for activation without a product key.
