ECFinder EC BIOS Finder From Main BIOS

ECFinder is a program designed to search for firmware for multi controllers and various BIOS es within binary files such as dumps or unpacked update files.

Please note: Firmware may be present in some files, but not in others, and no results will be found if it is absent.

Search Algorithms and Features:

• Research and implementation for ENE, ITE, Nuvoton, MEC (some)

• Support for keyboard controllers (KBC) such as it8171 / it8176 56KB, which may also be found in dumps

• Console mode of operation available

• Automatic conversion of “previous generation” updates from the Asus website into complete BIOS firmware or part of it, replacing the CAP-to-BIN utility. If AMI PFAT is encountered, it will indicate that it cannot process it. For BIOS firmware, specify the size of the file using one of the available options.

• Automatic extraction of complete BIOS firmware or parts from unpacked Insyde H2O update files, commonly used by Acer, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Huawei, etc. (i.e., extracting from *.fd, isflash.bin, etc.)

How to Usage Instructions ECFinder:

• Launch the utility to specify a file by dragging it into the window (drag and drop) or pressing Enter to open the file manager. At the end, you will be prompted to visit the website to check for updates, make a donation to the author, and purchase additional tools.

• Console Mode: Use the command ECFinder.exe -x filepath-path-to-file, where x represents the size (128, 160, 192, 256, 384, 512, or 1004). For example: ECFinder.exe -128 d:\file.bin. The program will automatically close after execution.

When starting the program, it performs a background check for new versions (this stage will be skipped without an internet connection). If a new version is available, you will be notified with a warning to visit the website, after which the program will continue its operation.
